Notice of Spin-off of the Specialty Glass Business for Imaging Sensor

HOYA CORPORATION (“HOYA”, hereafter) announces today that HOYA spins off the specialty glass business for imaging sensor into its wholly owned subsidiary, HOYA CANDEO OPTRONICS CORPORATION (“HCO”, hereafter) through a corporate split.

HCO will assume and continue the business and will devote themselves to further improvement of product quality and customer services.

There will be no changes to the structure of HOYA OPTO-ELECTRONIS QINGDAO LTD. (Qingdao, China) which is a major manufacturing factory, and it will continue the operation in cooperation with HCO going forward.
