HOYA Introduces Its First Off-site Corporate PPA at Akishima Plant

HOYA Corporation announced that its Optics Section Akishima Plant, located in Akishima City, Tokyo, entered into an off-site corporate Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Marubeni Power Retail Corporation on March 6th, 2026. Under the agreement, the plant will receive renewable energy electricity generated from a newly constructed solar power facility located off-site.

Through this agreement, HOYA expects to secure a stable, mid- to long-term supply of renewable electricity with additionality, contributing to the expansion of renewable energy capacity.

The HOYA Group joined the RE100 initiative in 2023 and has set targets to increase the share of renewable electricity to 60% by fiscal year 2030 and to 100% by fiscal year 2040. To achieve these goals, the Group is advancing the introduction of renewable energy and diversifying procurement methods both in Japan and overseas.

Going forward, HOYA will continue to promote energy efficiency initiatives and expand the use of renewable energy, working to reduce CO₂ emissions and environmental impact while contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.
