Basic Policy in Preparing
HOYA Integrated Report
We believe that an Integrated Report should not be a document that requires extensive reading to understand. Rather, it should serve as an accessible information platform that enables investors to grasp the overall picture at a glance and explore areas of interest in greater depth when needed.
For institutional investors in particular, what matters is not the volume of information provided, but the ability to intuitively understand, within a short period of time, how corporate value is created and what underpins that value creation.
Based on this philosophy, we have given the highest priority to clarity and usability throughout this Integrated Report, including its structure, visual presentation, and organization of information.
At the same time, we concluded that the standardized integrated reporting templates and evaluation frameworks that have become increasingly common in recent years tend to focus on whether specific elements are included and whether prescribed formats are followed. As a result, they do not necessarily convey the reality of HOYA's value creation in a meaningful way.
Rather than aiming to address specific evaluation criteria, this report presents, in a concise and structured manner, the management logic at the core of HOYA: how we approach technological innovation, how we select markets, and how we have consistently replicated our decision-making processes over time.
Policy on Sustainability Disclosure
In disclosing sustainability-related information, the HOYA Group generally covers consolidated subsidiaries and other entities within the scope of financial consolidation, including the related metrics. In assessing materiality, we also take into consideration significant activities across our value chain.
For certain metrics, the reporting scope may be limited due to constraints such as data availability.
In such cases, the underlying assumptions and reporting boundaries are clearly disclosed in the ESG Databook, and we continue to work toward improving data coverage and quality.
This Integrated Report has been disclosed following approval by the Representative Executive Officer and CEO and the Representative Executive Officer and CFO in accordance with the Company's internal approval procedures.
